Winds of Adventure On the Barbary Coast

Winds of Adventure On the Barbary Coast

The novel opens when The MacGregor, the captain of the privateers, breaks his gunner, Ruben, out of an English prison and presses him into service. Ruben does not wish to sail with The MacGregor again, but he has little choice. Once aboard, he meets two old friends and a new enemy: William, the second mate. Because Ruben is an escaped prisoner, they cannot cruise where they had intended. Ruben, after much underhanded wrangling, convinces The MacGregor to attack the Shah of the Barbary coast and his henchman, the dreaded Ahmed the Corsair. Nothing goes quite according to plan, and they find that their adventure has only begun. Approximately 57,000 words.
